As from July 2006 new legal EU limits for mycotoxins produced by various Fusarium species apply to grain intended for human consumption. These Fusarium diseases are now measured in milling wheat and malting barleys. Most likely feed wheat will be included soon. If levels of toxins are too high, the crop can be rejected at intake. |
